Packing for the Beach

What should you take to the beach?

  • beach chairs
  • beach umbrella
  • blanket
  • a good book
  • clothes to change into
  • directions or a map
  • disposable camera: if you take a good camera, you might want to store it in a sandwich bag to keep out the sand and water
  • first aid items
  • frisbee/beach ball
  • goggles/masks
  • life jackets: discuss water safety with the kids and follow posted signs at the beach
  • lip balm with SPF protection
  • lotion or aloe
  • plastic bags for wet items
  • snacks and cooler: if allowed (one favorite: frozen grapes!)
  • sun hats or visors
  • sunglasses
  • sunscreen
  • towels
  • toys: nets, buckets, sifters, shovels, molds
  • water: don't get dehydrated
  • water shoes, sandals or flip flops
